This year we travelled to Texas for the Christmas holidays. Since we've never had a holiday just the two of us, we usually don't make much fuss about presents and whatnot. In fact, I don't think we even bothered to wrap them last year. But, as Christmas this year meant presents for Cora, we decided we should actually do something.
So the Saturday before we left for TX we woke up, got donuts, and had Christmas. Cora enjoyed all her new toys and books. (And doesn't her stocking there on the right look nice? I managed to finish it on time!)
The drive to Mom's house took about 9 or so hours, many of which Cora spent yelling. Still, we made it and enjoyed having a day to relax and gear up before Christmas Eve with the family. Of course, no Christmas is complete without family pictures:

On Christmas eve John, Stephanie, Weston, Ella, and Libby came over for presents and dinner. (That's my brother, his wife, and their kids for those who don't know.) Ella made sure every one opened their presents when it was their turn, Weston helped Cora open hers, and Libby redistributed all the gifts as she saw fit. Needless to say, it was complete chaos there for awhile!
We stayed at Mom's house for 7 or 8 days, I really can't remember. Mom (Nana to the kids) got lots of cuddling time with her newest granddaughter. Everyone else had to fight for cuddle time.
All in all, Christmas was a blast. There were a few injuries (see Weston's eye?), lots of hugs and laughter, and a wonderful time spent with family.
I enjoyed every minute with all my grandchildren- Cora,Weston,Ella and Libby. I also enjoyed visiting with their parents, too.

ReplyDeleteEmma loves playing with her cousins! It warms my heart that they can play even only seeing each other once a year. And we loved getting to catch up with you guys too!
