Second Halloween

Halloween was a blast this year. Cora decided she wanted to go as a cowgirl—by decided, I mean she got to wear the one costume we owned that was passed down from Weston, Ella and Libby—and boy was she cute!

She looks a little upset, but she was just hungry. She had no problem with the costume. In fact, she wore that thing all day without even removing the kerchief! I dropped her off at daycare in the morning without considering the full effect Halloween would have on the daycare population. Wow, those kids made my day! Every single one of them was in either a costume or some really cute Halloween pajamas. Needless to say, the kids were excited. I've never seen a group of kids more energetic than this! Cora, however, was a little tentative. She walked into the room slowly and was immediately approached by a classmate dressed as a tiger. This kid's costume was intense; he had a full-body suit complete with hood and tail. Cora didn't like it! She backed away as fast as her little legs would take her, and proceeded to circle the boy with as wide a radius as the room would allow. 


She must have made up with him, because by the end of the day she was nothing but wired. This wasn't her usual sugar high, which typically lasts about  30 minutes, followed by a crash. This was wired. She was bouncing off the walls, yelling at everything, and screamed bloody murder when she spilled her snack on the floor. We considered staying in for the evening, but after the scream decided we needed to get out of the house. The city of Gonzales hosted a Harvest Fest at Jambalaya Park. Admission was a bag of candy (pretty sure we were the ONLY people who actually "paid") and the festival included music, games, candy, and free jambalaya. We had a great time watching Cora run wild! She was a little too young fo most of the games, but she managed to "throw" a nerf football through a tire. I won't tell you how far she was from the tire.  :) Here is a picture of Gena and Cora enjoying some sprite. 

Before heading out we decided to put Clark in his costume and take a few pictures. Cora loves Clark, but never as much as when he dressed as a pumpkin!

Clark wasn't so sure about Cora's costume (or her crawling) for a moment.

I think she just realized she was in a costume.
