Easter Sunday started out rainy and gross around here. We had an egg hunt planned with the little boy across the street who is just a few weeks older than Cora. Fortunately the rain stopped and was replaced by humidity, mugginess, and mud. Pretty awesome, huh?
So, as the kids are both only 2 and not so adept at finding things right in front of them, the Dads didn't work too hard to hide the eggs. Even in plain sight we had to explain, and then demonstrate, the purpose of the egg hunt to the kids. Took awhile to get started, as we repeatedly had to encourage them to pick up more eggs and spend less time shaking each one and asking "What's in it?" Really, who knew egg hunts were so complicated?

What's in it?
Cora did slightly better, since the little boy just wanted to open every egg he came across. Cora quickly discovered that the best way to go about it is to put the basket down and bring the eggs in as you find them. That lasted for a few minutes, then she recruited me to help her out.

Way better. Get Mama to follow you around with the basket!
Once all the eggs had been found we enjoyed some cupcakes and play time. Several other neighbors came out and we had a nice little hang out in the front yard.

Good haul, kiddo.
Finally Rhys woke up. Oh yeah, he slept through the entire egg hunt! We tried to get some cute pictures of the kids and Rhys sort of cooperated. We tried to get Cora to join him but she decided that shoving him to the ground was a better choice and then ran away screaming when we chastised her. So that didn't happen.

He's a champion at standing these days.

Still isn't sure about this whole grass thing.
Anyway, we had a nice little Easter and a couple of really tired kids when the weekend was done. We did dye eggs, but took no pictures, as Geoff and I had to do all the work and Cora cannot be trusted to take pictures of anything other than the ceiling or floor. But, they got dyed and eaten and a good time was had by all.
